Sunday Paddles

On Sunday 30 March 2014 our coaches will be running guided paddles in the local area, these are free to anyone who attends the symposium. For safety reasons the venues will be decided nearer the time depending on local weather conditions.

The paddles may include:

Paddle to Little Cumbrae Island

A nice paddle across from Portencross round the back of the Island to visit the lighthouse and stop for lunch, continue the circumnavigation and visit the castle which mirrors the one to be found at Portencross.

Ailsa Craig

Known locally as 'Paddy's Milestone' Ailsa Craig lies around 14km from the Ayrshire Coast. A truly unique island. It is 1,114 feet high, about 4 km around the base and is made of unique, very hard granite. Use your newly honed forward paddling skills to get there, have lunch, explore the island and return to your departure point.

Circumnavigation of Big Cumbrae Island

Leave Largs marina and paddle across the channel to Big Cumbrae, follow the coastline round and stop for a break at Millport before completing the circumnavigation stopping off for a leg stretch and snack on one of the beaches before crossing the channel to the Marina - or will you go across to Largs for some Nardini's Ice Cream?
